The Business Unit
Skenzo, a Directi Business, is one of the world’s leading companies in the traffic monetization business. By revenue, we were the #1 fastest growing company in our vertical worldwide for 2006 & 2007, and we currently feature amongst the world’s Top 3 largest traffic monetization companies.
We focus on building mass market products in the internet advertising space. Our products rely on making split second intelligent decisions using large amount of data. Our databases are large, terabytes in size, spread over a 250+TB cluster. We currently use over 500+ CPU cores and more than 500+ GB of ram to run our database-based applications.
Job Description
All our projects are RDBMS intensive. The job involves architecting and developing large database-centric applications, for deployment over a large and distributed architecture that heavily relies upon replication to distribute data updates across a multitude of servers.
This is a hands-on position and the candidate is expected to be actively involved in code execution and review.
Responsibilities
Depending on the candidate’s experience and inclination, responsibilities will either be structured to focus on execution or management. Regardless, each candidate is expected to be hands-on technical.
Responsibilities will include end-to-end product ownership including architecture, design, execution and management of a large and complex platform that records and analyzes large volumes of data. These will stretch from generating complex SQL to gain business insight out of the many levels of data, to writing detailed Stored Procedures that give split second responses, to generating OLAP cubes that can be used by business analysts.
Requirements
- Prior experience designing and building complex applications using JavaScript
- Prior experience with at least two of the following frameworks: jQuery, Dojo, YUI, Prototype, MooTools,
- Strong grasp of closures, continuations, prototypal inheritance, etc.
- Deep understanding of the JavaScript engines in different browsers – IE 7/8, Cr, FF 2 and 3, Safari
- Deep understanding of the DOM model + rendering engines across various browsers and their quirks
- Deep understanding of HTTP
- Deep understanding of the browser caching model
- Deep understanding of the browser security model
Desired Skills
- Strong algorithm design skills
- Experience with any object oriented / functional languages
