We at Elixir Web Solutions have an excellent opportunity for you as a Software Designer (Core Java, Advanced Java) with one of the leading global provider of retail and corporate banking, consumer finance, insurance and wealth management services: RBS, Gurgaon.

Position: Software Designer (Core Java, Advanced Java)

Location: Gurgaon.

Job Description:
The candidate must have between 4 to 6 years of IT experience including 3-4 years of core java development.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling following tasks:
• Working with business analysts and subject matter experts to turn business requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements, into technical specifications.
• Timely delivery of robust, quality, unit and system tested applications and components, and supporting deliverables (JUnit tests, test results, documentation etc.).
• Assist the Technical Lead with planning by providing robust estimates for development tasks.
• Regular and ad-hoc reporting to status/progress to Lead/Manager, including escalation of issues and exceptions. Clear articulation of progress against plan. Escalate, clearly define and own issues through to resolution.
• Issue Management (including problem analysis and generation of solutions); Change Management; Test Management; Status Tracking & Reporting.
• Interaction with numerous business groups (Operations, Middle Office, Front Office, Risk, Finance etc.) throughout the full project lifecycle, and with other IT teams as appropriate.
• Initiate and conduct technical review meetings with peers. Mentor peers, participate, encourage and support team working/culture.
• Provide documentation/training to facilitate support. Provide reactive 2nd level support as required

Desired Profile:
• Education – Clear and good track record throughout academics. Engineering / MCA from recognized and reputed institute.
• In depth knowledge of client side and server side java development using Core Java, J2EE API, XML (Parsing & Schema) and OO design techniques.
• Knowledge of J2EE (JSP/Servlets, JDBC, RMI, EJB, JMS), Spring, Hibernate, Web services, Java Script, XML (Parsing & Schema), XSLT, Unix/Shell scripting, CVS, SVN, Ant, Maven etc.
• Good knowledge of various Software Development Methodologies and ability to apply them to specific projects. At minimum, methodologies should include: Waterfall, RUP, Agile, Scrum, test driven development and continuous integration.
• Strong in relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of unit test frameworks, their implementation and process integration (JUnit, Selena, etc.)

Supplementary Experience:
• Knowledge of Ajax, Velocity, Swings, etc.
• Development experience on Web and application servers like Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache, JBoss etc.
• Investment Banking Back office knowledge and experience in systems or processes around trade life cycle. Familiarity with investment banking products, knowledge of derivatives, fixed income and money markets.
• Knowledge of Investment Banking cutting-edge technologies.
• L2/ L3 support
