Systems Administrator responsible for the full range of systems administration tasks of Linux/ UNIX, and Windows based environments both internal and external (project customers). Administrative duties include the ability to support the hardware platform & resident applications from a systems stand-point, and security (system & data).
You must have experience in:
- Installing, building, and maintaining Linux Enterprise Servers in production environments;
- Maintaining server uptime consistent with set service level agreements and metrics;
- Systems Admin activities such as users management, patching, network configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues;
- Basic troubleshooting on Windows based servers;
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting
Skills requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux Server (ES & AS) administration;
- Understanding of NIS, NFS, LDAP, Syslog, Linux user administration, file system management, packages installation, kernel tuning parameters and patch management
- Experience on Backup tools preferably Veritas and Backup Exec;
- Experience/understanding of Virtualization using VMware;
- Experience with ticket management system, syslog analyzer, and similar monitoring tools
- Experience installing and maintaining MS Windows operating systems;
- Understanding of DNS, DHCP, WINS, Active directory and Web servers;
- Networking skills (i.e. TCP/IP sub netting, switching, Vlans, natting, VPN configuration and routing);
- Experience on Cisco managed switches, routers and firewall will be a plus;
- Experience in managing MS Sql Server 2005 will be a plus;
Other requirements:
- Excellent English written and spoken skills and the ability to work in a distributed team environment;
- All roles at B&D require client facing skills. The right candidate should have the quality to interface with the clients and demonstrate leadership skills;
- You must have demonstrated stability in prior employment tenures. Candidates who have changed jobs frequently in recent years are generally ineligible to join the B&D team;
- Selected candidates must be able to join within a month or less. Candidates with longer contractual notice periods will only be considered if they can join in this time-frame
Education and Certification:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college/ university
Candidates with certification such as RHCE (and CCNA, MCSE as applicable) will be preferred
